  1. Overview

Lumenicer is developed and operated by an independent filmmaker and app developer Alexander Zimmermann, designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All preferences and settings are stored exclusively on your device.

  1. Data We Process

The following data is stored locally on your device only:

  • Screen brightness level
  • Color settings (hue, saturation, color temperature)
  • Saved color palettes
  • Effect settings and preferences
  • Purchase unlock status (whether Lumenicer Pro is active)
  • Whether you have seen the color accuracy notice

This data is stored using Apple’s standard UserDefaults mechanism
and remains on your device at all times. We have no access to it.

  1. Apple Watch Sync

If you use the Lumenicer Apple Watch app, your settings
(brightness, colors, effects) are synced between your iPhone
and Apple Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework.
This is a direct, local device-to-device sync.
No data is transmitted to any server or third party.

  1. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Lumenicer offers optional in-app purchases (Lumenicer Pro).
All payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple via
the App Store. We do not receive, store, or process any
payment information. Please refer to Apple’s Privacy Policy

  1. No Data Collection

We do not collect:

  • Analytics or usage statistics
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Location data
  • Crash reports sent to external services
  • Any form of behavioral tracking

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or
tracking SDKs.

  1. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your local device data on the following legal basis:

  • Contractual necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): To provide
    the core functionality of the app, such as remembering
    your brightness and color preferences.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): To restore
    your settings across app launches for a seamless experience.
  • 8. Data Retention

All data is retained on your device for as long as you keep
the app installed. When you uninstall Lumenicer, all locally
stored data is permanently deleted from your device.

  1. Your Rights (GDPR)

As a user in the European Union, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You may request information
    about data we process about you. As all data is stored
    locally on your device, you have direct access at all times.
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can delete all data by
    uninstalling the app. For any additional requests, contact us.
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): Your settings
    are stored in iOS standard formats on your device.
  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): You may object to data
    processing by contacting us at [YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS].
  • Right to lodge a complaint: You have the right to lodge a
    complaint with a supervisory authority. In Germany, this is
    the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of

  • 10. Children’s Privacy

Lumenicer does not knowingly collect data from children under
the age of 13. The app does not require account creation or
any form of personal data input.

  1. Data Security

Your data is protected by:

  • iOS device encryption
  • Restricted app sandbox access
  • No transmission over networks

We follow Apple’s security guidelines for data stored via
UserDefaults and local app storage.

  1. Third-Party Services

Lumenicer does not integrate any third-party services,
advertising networks, or analytics platforms.

The only third-party involvement is Apple’s App Store for
payment processing. Apple’s Privacy Policy applies to that

  1. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be posted at this URL with an updated
„Last Updated“ date. Continued use of the app after
changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
